Debbie has 15 years’ experience across Marketing, Brand, Social, PR, Copywriting and Content Strategy. She started her career in Journalism working for Northcliffe Media as a Sub-Editor, Reporter and Feature Writer before moving into Copywriting and Marketing for various companies.
In 2013 she joined the Marketing Team at the UK’s largest independent energy supplier, First Utility (later Shell Energy). During her time in the energy sector, Debbie brought her copy and comms experience into various customer marketing roles before working across a complete brand refresh and National media campaign.

Following this, she joined leading UK charity YMCA as a Content Strategist and later start-ups Sipp Wine, where she developed the brand identity and managed all marketing channels, and Emoov, where she led the team responsible for all customer touchpoints driving a 200% increase in customer engagement.

Debbie launched the Beauty Glow Girl brand in 2018 and has amassed more than 300,000 followers across various social platforms.
In 2018 she joined Vanarama as Head of Brand Marketing and managed a campaign to redefine the brand identity, running a fully-integrated national media campaign. She also ran the in-house Content Team responsible for a 113% increase in organic traffic before the purchase of Vanarama by Auto Trader for £200m in 2022.
During this period, Debbie also embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by launching Beauty Glow Girl. Originating as a side project on Instagram, it swiftly evolved into a brand and business in its own right, amassing more than 300,000 followers and garnering millions of views across various social channels.
Through this venture, Debbie honed her expertise in content creation and social media strategy, subsequently collaborating with brands such as Boots, Superdrug and Debenhams. This has led to her becoming an authority in influencer marketing and its potential for brands when executed correctly.
In her role as Brand & Marketing Director at Alderway, Debbie is excited to be working to support Backbone Businesses, consulting on all things brand and marketing to unlock extraordinary opportunities and rewards.
