Moving into industry, Dan joined Ridgeway, a fast-growing motor retail business, where he worked with the owners to streamline operations, improving financial governance and reporting to plug profit leakage and drive better management disciplines. During Dan’s time with the business, revenue and profitability more than doubled in three years, contributing to the ultimate disposal to a PLC group, at an industry leading EBITDA multiple, for over £100m.
Dan again brought this experience to Vanarama, working with Andy to help deliver his vision of an e-commerce vehicle leasing experience. Applying the same focus to financial process, governance and control, and working with the wider management team to support operational change as the business sought to transform and scale. He led a successful second round fund raising process in 2019 which provided the growth capital needed to continue with the transformation plan, culminating in the £200m exit to Auto Trader in 2022.

Dan is looking forward to building the Alderway portfolio and using his experience to help Alderway partners achieve even greater success.
